19-Year-Old Critically Injured In Hit-Run Freeport Crash Involving SUV

Autnorities are asking the public's help in finding the suspect in a hit-and-run crash on Long Island.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, Nassau County Police released details on the incident that happened last month.

According to detectives, the 19-year-old man was crossing Sunrise Highway at the intersection of Bayview Avenue at around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, when he was struck by a dark colored SUV that was traveling northbound on Bayview Avenue. 

The vehicle fled the scene westbound on Sunrise Highway. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition. 

The investigation is ongoing.
